Former Belgium midfielder wants compatriot to make Serie A switch ahead of impending move to Italian giants
Belgian midfielder Radja Nainggolan is trying to convince Tottenham’s Mousa Dembele to join him at Inter Milan. Nainggolan’s move to the San Siro is on the verge of completion after Inter and Roma agreed a part-exchange deal which includes around £21m and Davide Santon.
It was suggested the switch would end Inter’s interest in Dembele, who also plays as a central midfielder. But now the Gazzetta dello Sport has claimed Inter in fact want to unite Nainggolan and his compatriot Dembele in a midfield partnership. And it has even been suggested that Nainggolan is personally attempting to persuade his friend and fellow countryman into the move.
Dembele has been heavily linked with a move to Italy this summer, with question marks over his future at Tottenham. Spurs are even said to be running the rule over potential replacements and could be ready to sell Dembele should someone offer around £25m.
