Liverpool are thinking twice before finalising a £53million deal for Lyon’s Nabil Fekir after medical results made them question the player’s fitness, according to reports.

Fekir ruptured his cruciate ligament on international duty with France three years ago, and it is believed this may have put the transfer on hold while Reds medical staff assess their findings.

The news, reported by the Telegraph, comes just 24 hours after Lyon released a statement rubbishing claims Fekir was already a Liverpool player.
